Hi there!
My name is Hillary and I work at Home ReSource here in Missoula. Welcome to the Zero Waste Ambassadors Program!! We like to say ZWAP! instead, well, because it’s fun to say, but it’s also the sound of knocking out waste in Missoula! I don’t know if any of you have ever been to Home ReSource before, so I am going to tell you just a little bit about it.
Home ReSource is a Building Materials Reuse Center. But, what in the world does that even mean? Here is an easier way to think about it. Home ReSource is like a cross between a thrift store and a hardware store. That means that the things we have here are donated, and the types of materials you’ll find throughout our store are very similar to what you might find at a hardware store.
There are some opportunities to submit things to me and the winners will be announced here, and maybe even on Home ReSource’s website and their social media pages. The Visioning Activity: it’s like a coloring contest, where you get to draw and color what you think a zero waste world looks like. The most thoughtful entries are going to get a shout out! There are also some games and quizzes that keep score, and as you do those, take a screenshot of your final score and send it to me, and I am going to create a leaderboard.
I’m excited for you to get started with ZWAP! and I hope you are, too. Let’s get started and see what we can learn about reducing waste, and what we need to do to become Zero Waste Ambassadors!
