In 2015, increasingly aware of the obstacles faced by many young people in our community, we launched the Youth Internship & Apprenticeship to provide meaningful employment experience to teens and young adults. In partnership with area schools and other youth-focused programs, we provide a safe, structured work environment, mentoring, paid job training, school credit, and a reference for high school-aged participants. Over the years, we have provided internships and apprenticeships to more than 50 primarily low-income young people, five of whom went on to become permanent Home ReSource staff. These young people have become integral to the Home ReSource team, inspiring us with their energy and optimism.
Know of a young person interested in joining our crew as a paid youth intern? We offer three open sessions a year – winter, spring, and fall – which are 64 hour internships. The 10-week summer session takes place in partnership with All Nations.
Applications for any of the sessions can be submitted at any time. Find out more and complete an application today!
