Zero Waste Action Month

Each year, Home ReSource organizes Zero Waste Action Month. One month to think differently about what we buy, use and throw away.

Let’s talk about garbage.

Did you know that in 2018, the City of Missoula adopted ZERO by FIFTY: Missoula’s Path to Zero Waste? As a community, we are working to reduce our garbage by 90% by the year 2050. Here’s why that’s important. We know that half of carbon emissions come from food waste and garbage.  On average, Montanans throw away 8 lbs of garbage every day – that’s more than the national average.
Zero Waste Action Month is an opportunity to take time to think differently about what we buy, use, and throw away.

During Zero Waste Action Month, we invite you to take the Zero Waste Pledge!

There are small and big things we can all do to reduce waste in our community.  When you take the Zero Waste Pledge, you are committing to try two new things to reduce your waste at home, in the office, or in your neighborhood.  During Zero Waste Action Month, you will receive an email with simple lifestyle changes or activities that you can do to make a big difference.
Bonus points! Get a chance to win a Home ReSource gift card for sharing your experience on social media!

Be a part of zero-waste activities across Missoula!
