Open Woodshop

Have a project you’re excited to build but need space, tools, or guidance to get started? The Home ReSource Woodshop is here to help.

Every Friday, the Home ReSource Woodshop is open to everyone, and all skill levels are welcome. Bring your ideas or works-in-progress and enjoy access to workspace, tools, and support to help bring your project to life.

Many project materials are also available for purchase at Home ReSource. After completing our free tool training, you’ll be able to use a wide range of woodshop tools, including:

  • SawStop Table Saw
  • Compound Miter Saw
  • Planer
  • Jointer
  • Drill Press
  • Routers/Router Table
  • Bandsaw
  • Tormek Sharpening System

Prerequisite: Begin with our free tool training during Community Woodshop, available at no cost. You can focus on the tools that match your interests or explore them all. After completing training on the tools you plan to use, you’ll be ready to participate in future workshops and Open Woodshop sessions.

Tool training begins at 12:00 on Community Woodshop days and follows the schedule below:

First Friday –  Miter Saw & Band Saw
Second Friday – Table Saw & Router Table
Third Friday – Jointer & Planer
Fourth Friday – First Come First Serve
Fifth Friday – Overhead Sander & Drill Press

Registration Fee: The tool training is always free! Project session hours are based on a sliding scale calculated using your household income. This fee ranges from $15 – $25 per hour and will be determined during registration. Register here!
