Missoula Gives bike shelter

Supporting sustainability and independence.

Opportunity Place, the new ADA-accessible housing and art center on Ash Street in Missoula, is almost move-in ready. Soon, 24 residents will be calling this thoughtfully designed, affordable community home.

Now we’re raising support to complete two final features that will make daily life even better for residents: a safe, accessible bike shelter and a zero-waste recycling and waste station.

These are practical, high-impact additions that support independence and sustainability right where people live.

  • The bike shelter will provide secure, accessible storage for adaptive bikes and trikes, helping residents stay mobile and connected to the community.
  • The zero-waste station will create a simple, accessible system for recycling, compost, and waste, making it easier for everyone to participate in a cleaner, more sustainable living environment.

Together, these spaces round out a community designed for dignity, independence, and everyday ease.

This is a community effort, built with reclaimed materials and the support of volunteers, Artists of Opportunity, Home ReSource staff, and skilled partners. Special thanks to Encompass Design, Blueline Builders, and Bouchee Development for helping bring this vision to life.
