I’m looking for this very specific item. Do you know if you have it?
- Our inventory changes every day, so we don’t keep track of all the items we have in the store. Your best bet is to stop by and wander around! You can check out this page to see what we generally accept.
I have paint I don’t need anymore. Will you take it?
- Yes! We sell lots of paint. There are a few requirements for us to be able to accept it. For latex paint, is it less than 5 years old? Is the container at least ½ full? Has it ever been frozen? Is the can in good condition without rust? If your paint meets these conditions we’d love to accept it. If it doesn’t we give away free sawdust so you can dry out your latex paint. You can safely dispose of your oil based paints at our Household Chemical facility.
What can I do with my fluorescent lightbulbs?
- Home ReSource can take your fluorescent lightbulbs for a fee. Accepted types of bulbs include:
2- and 4-foot Tubes (T5, T8, T12) ($2.50/bulb)
5-8 foot Tubes (T5, T8) ($4.00/bulb)
5-8 foot Tubes (T12) ($7.50/bulb)
CFLs ($1.50-$2.00/bulb)
U-Bend ($2.50/bulb)
Circle ($2.25/bulb)
All bulbs must be fully intact and not broken to be accepted. Note prices are subject to change based on market fees.
Do you pick up items if I can’t bring them to the store?
- Yes! We pickup items within the Missoula area. Please email pickups@homeresource.org or you can call/text 406-880-5555. If you’re not sure we’ll take an item, you can text a photo to the number.
When can I drop off household chemicals?
- In the winter months we are open one day each month. You can find the schedule on our website and schedule an appointment. If these dates don’t work for you, you can email kalling@missoulacounty.us and schedule an individual time.
I need to do community service. Who do I reach out to?
- We love having community service help at Home ReSource. Our assistant store manager, Mike Shea, coordinates community service. His email is mshea@homeresource.org.
My group/myself/company/organization wants to volunteer. How can I do so?
- Yes please! We love having groups volunteer. Our Development Director can help you schedule a time for your group. Her email is jen@homeresource.org Or you can go to the Get Involved Tab on our website and learn more.
How do I reserve the Community Room for my event?
- Our Youth Programs Coordinator handles community room reservations. You can email them at learn@homeresource.org.
Why do you open an hour later on Wednesdays?
- Each week we take one hour with our staff team to meet. Sometimes we do projects together, and sometimes we have training.
Can I return an item I’m not happy with?
- No. We have a NO RETURNS policy. Since we’re a reuse store we do not guarantee any of the items we sell. You’re welcome to donate back an item if you don’t like it after you buy it.
Will you take my couch?
- We do not accept furniture. Our friends at Donation Warehouse love couches and even do free pick-ups.

- For tool rental you’re probably thinking of our neighbors, MUD! You can call them at 406-721-7513.
