Woodworker’s Bench Community Build
Hello, all woodworkers!
In response to requests for skill-building workshops where the final project is donated back to Home ReSource, we’re offering a classic Woodworker’s Bench build. Over one weekend, students will learn how to design and build a professional joiner’s workbench. This bench will replace one of our existing 36″ x 96″ tables, providing a flat, durable, and lower workspace that will benefit community members for years to come. Help Home ReSource outfit our workshop and learn some new skills in the process!
This is a special opportunity for four students to work closely with our instructor, learning the entire build process from design to finish. There will be ample time to discuss the techniques and theory behind constructing a quality bench. The project will include material selection, large glue-ups, leveling, vise installation, drawer building, joinery, and cabinet construction.
Dates: January 31–February 1, 2026
Times: 9:00 am–5:00 pm (lunch provided!)
Prerequisites: Students must be trained on the table saw, miter saw, router table, jointer, planer, and band saw before the class.

Cost: $195
Tool training: If you still need to take any of the required tool trainings, we will offer an extended, free training session on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 12 pm–4 pm to cover all the tools in one long session.
