SponCon 2016 was Saturday, September 17th!
Designed to inspire a culture of reuse with a free, engaging community activity, “SponCon” has become an annual Missoula tradition. Contest participants have seven hours to use their choice of Home ReSource materials to build the most beautiful, functional, and creative pieces they can dream up. We provide a variety of enjoyable, inventive reuse activities, music, and access to local food vendors for contestants and spectators alike. The event draws teams of artists, DIYers, and builders to create works of art and utility, as well as approximately 500 onlookers just there for the fun. After the judges announce winners, some pieces are auctioned on site, and top-judged creations go to the Benefit Auction.

Spontaneous Construction is more than just Home ReSource’s birthday party. It is an event about inspiring a culture of reuse in the Missoula community; it is about educating, demonstrating, and facilitating new ways to use our resources; and it is about celebrating a shared desire & commitment to make this world a better place.
Join the fun. The awareness and proceeds from the events help Home ReSource further our mission and fund supplemental programs. In addition to operating a building materials reuse store, Home ReSource partners with local agencies to offer jobs and training to Missoulians in need. Home ReSource donates thousands of dollars in materials annually to area nonprofits, schools, events, churches, and community organizations and provides educational tours, classes and events (like SponCon!) that promote a culture of reuse.
