Zero Waste Events
In 2025, Home ReSource provided Zero Waste Event services at Missoula Pride, Zootown Music Festival, Missoula Marathon, Western Montana Fair, and River City Roots Festival.
Together, these events welcomed more than 175,000 attendees. With support from event organizers, vendors, and Green Team volunteers, we diverted more than 70,000 pounds of material from the landfill, achieving a diversion rate of over 75%.
Zero Waste Event support from Home ReSource helps community celebrations reduce waste through composting, recycling, reuse, and education. We work closely with event planners, vendors, and volunteers to make sustainability a visible and accessible part of the event experience.

2026 Events
Help make Missoula’s favorite events cleaner, greener, and closer to zero waste.
Green Team Volunteers are the friendly faces who help event attendees compost, recycle, and reduce waste at community festivals and events throughout the year. Whether you’re passionate about sustainability or simply looking for a fun way to give back, we’d love to have you on the team.
As a Green Team volunteer, you’ll:
- Help attendees sort compost, recycling, and landfill waste
- Monitor and maintain waste stations throughout the event
- Answer simple questions and encourage waste-wise habits
- Make a visible, positive impact in your community
No experience is necessary. We’ll provide training, support, and everything you need to feel confident in your role.
