In It For The Long Haul

Home ReSource is still closed to the public to keep our staff, our customers and our whole community as safe and healthy as we can. And we know that not one thing about the corona virus changes the community needs that Home ReSource addresses everyday: providing affordable materials, keeping things out of the landfill, employing good people, supporting the local economy, sparking creativity and joy and self-sufficiency with reuse, building sustainable systems for the future, and inspiring change.

So we are pivoting to keep you, our community, inspired, engaged and more skilled than ever at building the sustainable future we want to live in. We’re making our Zero Waste education and infrastructure programs virtual, researching best reuse practices, learning to Zoom and Google Hang-out, staring at cash flow projections, sorting out what we can do to better support you and developing systems to ensure that when the time is right, we can safely keep taking donations and getting materials to folks who need them.

Because however long this lasts, we intend to be right here with supported staff, serving our community and ready to deliver all of our diverse programs even better than before. Because we are only going to weather this together. Look for a survey, at-home reuse activities for all ages, and more socially distanced adventure ideas from us early next week.
