ReVAMP offers training to community members who need to reinvent their employable skills, update their home affordably, or create marketable products. And it’s all affordable on our sliding fee scale!
If you qualify, please download our financial assistance application, fill it out, then return it to the store or email it to Jack@homeresource.org. Upon approval we will give you a letter stating that you are qualified for discounts for our classes offered through the Lifelong Learning Center.

| Basic Home Electrical February 4 & 11 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM Sliding fee: $20 – $65 |
Simple electrical repairs in the home can be easy if you know a little bit about electricity. A simple step-by-step approach can lead to safe and proper repairs and installations. You will learn about electrical safety, basic tools and how to safely change switches and receptacles, to install ceiling fans and fixtures, and rewire and repair lamps. |
| Beginning Woodworking for Women Mondays & Wednesdays February 6 – 20, 6:00 – 9:00 PM Sliding fee: $53 – $174 |
Woodworking with reclaimed lumber combines technical skills with creative thinking. Engage both aspects of yourself through this class that teaches basic skills and conceptual approaches–ideal for novices or those seeking a little guidance to take the next step. You will use hand tools and power tools to create a Craftsman style mirror/picture frame. Bring a tape measure & ear and eye protection. |
| Drywall Installation and Repair Saturday February 25 12:00 – 4:00 PM Sliding fee: $14 – $45 |
Whether you need to patch a hole in the wall or drywall a room, save money and time by doing it yourself. Learn techniques for repairing, taping and texturing sheet rock walls and tips and tricks from a professional to get great looking results. |
| Rehabilitating Old Doors Thursday, March 1 6:00 – 9:00 PM Sliding fee: $14 – $44 |
Learn how to transform an old door into a wonderful portal. This class will introduce you to the fundementals of structural and aesthetic door rehabilitation. We will review samples of the most common door styles selected from Home ReSource’s stock. You will have an opportunity to try out each technique and ask questions relevant to your home project. Bring gloves and personal safety equipment. |
| Basic Home Plumbing Saturday, March 3 12:00 – 4:00 PM Sliding fee: $14 – $44 |
Does it take 3-4 trips to the home improvement store to get what you really need to fix that plumbing problem? This basic plumbing workshop will help you take the guess work out of your plumbing projects whether you are replacing or repairing and may even save you some $$. You will learn how to repair and replace faucets, sinks and toilets and troubleshoot clogs, garbage disposals and other common plumbing problems. Bring your desire to pick up a few tricks of the trade, but leave the kitchen sink at home! |

This class is ideal for both novices and those looking to sharpen basic skills by covering the fundamentals of woodworking with hand tools and power tools. You will practice cutting, shaping, and joining reclaimed wood; then apply your skills to create a smooth, appealing, and durable kitchen cutting board. Bring a tape measure & ear and eye protection. |
| Earth Friendly Wood Finishes Saturday, March 24 2:00 – 5:00 PM Sliding fee: $12 – $39 |
Seeking a durable, nice, low toxicity finish for a wood project? If you are building a new piece or refurbishing an heirloom this class will help you answer the key whys, hows, and wheres about conscientious wood finishes. We will cover new and traditional products and techniques, with a focus on eco-friendly options. Bring old clothes, surgical gloves, & eye protection. |
| Build a Planter Box with Household Tools Saturday, March 10 12:00 – 5:00 PM Sliding fee: $21 – $70 |
In this class you will learn basic woodworking techniques with tools you may already have or can borrow. You’ll go home with a simple planter box, ready for the arrival of spring weather. |
